What is podcasting?
Podcasting lets you automatically receive pre-recorded audio programs on your computer, your iPod or on any other MP3 player. You decide which programs you'd like to get anything from amateur audioblogs to professional radio programs by "subscribing" to free feeds. Your podcasting software regularly checks for any new audio files and then, according to your preferences, downloads them to either your computer or your audio player. You're then good to go with the audio of your choice for work, leisure or anything in between with virtually no effort.

What kind of content does Electric Light & Power podcast?

Electric Light & Power is now offering two types of Podcasts:
  • Editorial Podcasts: Industry news, announcements, and other editorial items presented by the staff of Electric Light & Power. Editorial podcasts do not require registration.
  • Vendor Podcasts: Industry-specific informative podcasts presented by the customers of Electric Light & Power. Vendor podcasts may or may not require registration.

How do I listen to a podcast?
  • Listen from your iPod
    • Podcasts were originally designed to be played on iPods®. For more information, please refer to your iPod User Manual.
  • Listen from your computer: There are three different methods to listen to podcasts from your computer. Choose the one that works best for you!
    • Subscribe to podcast feed
      To receive Electric Light & Power feeds in your podcasting application:
      • Click on for the feed you want. (You can right-click or option-click for a shortcut).
      • Copy the URL in the address bar of your browser (or from your clipboard) and paste it into your podcasting application.
      • Alternatively, click on to launch the feed directly in iTunes.
    • Play Immediately
      • Click the "Play Now" link to start listening to a podcast immediately from your computer
      • Your default mp3 player will play the podcast (i.e. Windows Media Player, Winamp, iTunes, etc)
    • Download for later
      • Click the "Download" link to save the podcast for future listening.
      • Save the file where you would like and listen to it at your leisure.


Please refrain from emailing podcasts to friends. Rather, send them to Electric Light & Power to listen!

What are the minimum system requirements for my computer?
To listen to podcasts, you're computer will need the ability to play music. Headphones or external speakers will work best! Refer to the next question to find software to play podcasts.

What programs can I use to listen to podcasts?

Electric Light & Power cannot provide support for podcasting software applications. Please contact the manufacturer for support on any issues using their software.

How do I submit podcast materials?

How do I sponsor a podcast?
