Calpine obtains $100 million project finance facility for 600-MW Metcalf Energy Center in San Jose, Calif.
Calpine Corporation's indirect subsidiary Metcalf Energy Center, LLC has obtained a $100 million, non-recourse credit facility for the Metcalf Energy Center (Metcalf) in San Jose, Calif. -- the first single-asset, merchant project financing in California since the energy crisis.

Xanser's Furmanite announces additional five-year partnership with Exelon Corporation
Furmanite, a worldwide technical and engineering services company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Xanser Corporation, recently announced a five-year, strategic agreement with Exelon Corporation for on-line leak sealing and safety valve testing services. Exelon Corporation is one of the nation's largest electric utilities with more than $15 billion in annual revenues.

Intergraph awarded contract for mobile workforce management by Kansas City Power and Light
Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions announced Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) has purchased Intergraph's InService™ for mobile workforce management. Kansas City Power & Light Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Great Plains Energy Incorporated, serves approximately 500,000 customers in 24 northwestern Missouri and Kansas counties - a territory of about 4,600 square miles.

MDS provides IP backhaul for a North Dakota Electric Cooperative's serial data

Landis+Gyr and Metrum announce marketing agreement
Landis+Gyr Inc. and Metrum Technologies, LLC, a leading provider of wireless communications and data acquisition solutions for the utility industry, announced at DistribuTECH 2005 that the Metrum integrated wireless CDMA/1xRTT solution is now available for the Landis+Gyr S4 family of meters. The companies further announced that Landis+Gyr plans to work with Metrum to market Metrum's OV2000 CDMA/1xRTT cellular communications technologies.

Advantica wins Consolidated Edison integrity management contract
Advantica has been awarded a contract by Consolidated Edison Company of New York (Con Edison) for the design and implementation of a pipeline integrity information management system (PIIMS). The four-phase project involves the establishment of a geospatially-enabled system based on Advantica's family of Uptime™ integrity management products that will encompass all of Con Edison's transmission mains.
