Tondu signs agreement with Shell Global Solutions for gasification technology
Tondu Corporation announced they have entered into an agreement with Shell Global Solutions (US) Inc. to utilize the Shell Coal Gasification Process (SCGP) technology in Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) projects that Tondu is currently developing.

Itron to automate nearly 1 million meters at Piedmont Natural Gas
Itron Inc. announced a contract with Piedmont Natural Gas Company to automate data collection from 945,000 natural gas meters for the Charlotte, N.C.-based utility. The deployment is expected to begin this month and finish in October 2007.

TVA renews system-wide partnering alliance contract with Day & Zimmermann NPS
Day & Zimmermann NPS® (DZNPS), one of the nation's leading contractors performing power plant maintenance and modification services, has been awarded a new multi-year, system-wide contract with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Since 1995, DZNPS has been TVA's Alliance Partner performing full-service plant maintenance and modifications at TVA's fossil plants in the western part of the Tennessee Valley, which spans both Tennessee and Kentucky.

Jack Resnick & Sons and OfficePower announce the completion of a long-term lease for distributed generation
Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc. and OfficePower, L.L.C. announce the completion of a long-term lease and services agreement for OfficePower to install, own and operate a 720 kW distributed generation plant at 110 East 59th Street in Midtown Manhattan. This on-site power and cogeneration plant will use state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly, micro-turbines and cogeneration equipment that will provide a substantial portion of the building's ongoing power and thermal load requirements.

Capstone's New York office books 2.4 MW of microturbine orders
Capstone Turbine Corporation received orders for 2.4 megawatts of its 60-kilowatt microturbine systems from the company's Brooklyn sales and service office for customers in New York and New Jersey.

AES announces power purchase agreement with Direct Energy and financing for 120 MW wind generation project
The AES Corporation announced it signed a 15-year wind power purchase agreement with Texas retail electric provider Direct Energy, a subsidiary of Centrica, plc. AES will sell all of the electricity it produces from its first phase 120 megawatt (MW) Buffalo Gap wind generation facility in Texas at fixed prices to Direct Energy.

Hunt Power offers reliable satellite service for Elster meters
Hunt Power, an energy systems and service provider, announced its ability to collect energy usage data from Elster Electricity ALPHA Plus meters via satellite. In a ground-breaking move last fall, Hunt Power launched a two-way satellite service to read GE KV2 series meters for utility customers like the Lower Colorado River Authority.
