Pacific Northwest to test smart grid energy technologies Several Northwest electric utilities and a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory kicked off a new regional initiative to test and speed adoption of new smart grid technology that can make the Northwest power grid more resilient and efficient.
Springville Municipal Power completes deployment of Hunt Technologies' AMR system Springville Municipal Power is collecting unexpected benefits from its automatic meter reading (AMR) system, according to the Mark Hamilton, the utility's meter and customer service manager. The power provider to a community of 26,000 in central Utah, Springville recently completed deployment of the TS1 System, a power line carrier AMR system from Hunt Technologies, to more than 7,500 residential power customers.
