PSEG Power celebrates completion Of 750-MW Bethlehem Energy Center
PSEG Power officially welcomed the 750-megawatt (MW) Bethlehem Energy Center (BEC) into its generating fleet in a dedication ceremony that included New York State Public Service Commission Chairman William M. Flynn and a gathering of company, state, and local officials.
Minnesota Power secures long-term energy contract with largest customer
Minnesota Power, a division of Duluth-based ALLETE, Inc., announced it has reached a long-term, all requirements agreement with United States Steel Corporation to provide electric service through October 2013 to its Minntac and Keewatin Taconite production facilities. Minntac and Keewatin Taconite use a combined 275 megawatts of electricity and United States Steel Corporation is Minnesota Power's largest energy customer.
Comverge and Tampa Electric launch 'Energy Planner' price responsive pilot
Tampa Electric and Comverge, Inc. announced that they have partnered to launch a price responsive load control pilot utilizing Comverge's Maingate™ Home system. The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) will launch a multi-year campaign to increase energy efficiency at 9 billion square feet of commercial properties. Calpine Corporation has priced a $123.1 million, non-recourse project finance facility that will provide funding to complete the construction of the 79.9-megawatt Bethpage Energy Center 3 (Bethpage 3) located in Hicksville, N.Y. The loan facility has been fully underwritten by Calyon New York Branch (Calyon).

Commerce Energy signs contract with Quest Asset Management for electric service
Commerce Energy Group, Inc., the largest non-utility retail energy marketer in the U.S. announced that its subsidiary, Commerce Energy, Inc. has entered into an electric service agreement with Quest Asset Management, Inc. Under the agreement, fifteen properties in Texas, totaling over two hundred units, will receive electric service at a fixed price from Commerce Energy for one full year.
