EPA proposes regulatory options for maintaining NOx air quality standards
On Feb. 14, 2005, EPA proposed three regulatory options to maintain air quality in areas that meet national air quality standards for nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The Clean Air Act's Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program for NOx uses "increments" to limit the amount of air quality deterioration that may occur in any given area of the country.
