(Lukens) located in Houston, Texas, a preeminent management consulting group serving senior management in the oil and gas industry in strategy, risk mitigation, valuation and regulatory matters.
T&b acquires Southern Monopole Thomas & Betts Corporation announced that it has purchased the assets of Southern Monopole and Utilities Company, a subsidiary of the Qualico Steel Company, Inc. for approximately $16 million in cash. Southern Monopole manufactures steel poles used for electrical transmission and substations, lattice utility towers, cellular communications and lighting. Thomas & Betts expects the transaction to be slightly accretive to 2005 earnings.
Two Progress Energy departments incorporate Acronis True Image for disaster recovery Acronis, Inc., a technological leader in storage management solutions, announced that the Combustion Turbine and Fossil Generation Departments of Progress Energy, Inc. based in Raleigh, NC, and St. Petersburg, FL has incorporated Acronis True Image 8.0 into its process control systems disaster recovery program. The company improved its disaster recovery readiness by upgrading its process control systems' computers to the latest release of the Acronis software.
