NRC approves power uprate for Seabrook station The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved a request by FPL Energy Seabrook to increase the generating capacity of Seabrook Station by 5.2 percent. The NRC staff determined that FPL could safely increase the reactor's power output primarily by upgrading minor plant components. NRC staff also reviewed FPL evaluations that showed the plant's design can handle the increased power level.
Plug Power receives U.S. GSA listing Plug Power Inc. a provider of clean, reliable on-site energy, announced that the Company's GenCore 5-kW backup fuel cell system has been approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for listing on the Federal Supply Service Schedule.
Schneider Electric enhances its capabilities in energy management systems with the acquisition of Power Measurement, Inc. Schneider Electric has agreed to acquire Canadian-based Power Measurement, Inc. (PMI), owned by a consortium led by GFI Energy Ventures LLC. PMI is a leading designer, manufacturer and provider of enterprise energy intelligent systems for energy suppliers, service providers and large energy consumers. PMI had sales of $57 million in 2004.
