NSTAR set to welcome employees back to work
NSTAR Electric & Gas and its largest labor union, Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO, Local 369 are pleased to announce that union members have ratified a new four-year contract. The approval paves the way for NSTAR to have its full complement of workers serving customers beginning this Thursday.

NSTAR and UWUA Local 369 reach agreement
NSTAR Electric & Gas announced that it has reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract with its largest labor union, Utility Workers Union of America AFL-CIO, Local 369. Company and union representatives signed the deal today. It will once again provide NSTAR with a full complement of workers to serve its customers.

Puget Sound Energy updates 20-year plan for energy
A newly updated, long-range analysis by Puget Sound Energy (the utility subsidiary of Puget Energy) shows a continuing need to acquire new electricity and natural-gas resources to serve customers' energy demands.

Calpine to sell Saltend Energy Centre generating proceeds of approximately $925 million
A subsidiary of Calpine Corporation has agreed to sell its 1,200-megawatt Saltend Energy Centre for a total purchase price of 490 million pounds Sterling, or approximately $US906 million, plus adjustments for working capital expected to be approximately $US19 million -- generating total expected gross proceeds to Calpine of approximately $US925 million. Saltend is a natural gas-fired, cogeneration power plant located in Hull, England.

FirstEnergy Ohio utilities file to establish a generation charge adjustment rider
FirstEnergy Corp.'s Ohio electric utility companies -- Ohio Edison, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison -- filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio a request to establish a generation charge adjustment rider, as permitted under the companies' previously approved Rate Stabilization Plan.

Agreements reached in JCP&L rate cases
Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) announced that the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) approved a stipulated settlement agreement with the NJBPU staff and the Division of Ratepayer Advocate resolving the company's Phase II rate case filing, and a second stipulated settlement agreement with the NJBPU staff resolving the motion for reconsideration of the 2003 decision in its Phase I rate proceeding.
