Telvent and Miner & Miner form strategic alliance Telvent and Miner & Miner (M&M) have formed a strategic partnership to jointly provide Enterprise GIS products and IT services to utilities throughout the world.
GE Global Research, Sensicast & RPI join forces to develop wireless sensor networks for U.S. Department of Energy GE Global Research has been selected to lead the project to develop novel, low-cost wireless sensor networks for industrial equipment monitoring. The first focus will be to analyze the efficiency of industrial motors. Industrial electric motors are used in virtually every industrial and manufacturing process ranging from large pumps for municipal water plants to compressors that transport fuels through pipelines to simple air conditioning units.
Intergraph awarded emergency dispatch contract for the first joint federal and local emergency operations center Intergraph Corporation announced that it has been selected by Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in New Mexico, a prominent research center for nuclear weapons and homeland security technologies, to provide an emergency dispatch system to be shared with the local city and county governments. Reflecting the trend toward multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional emergency operations centers (EOCs), this is the United States' first EOC combining federal and local operations.

Allegheny Energy signs coal agreements Allegheny Energy, Inc. announced that it has entered into multi-year coal supply agreements with CONSOL Energy Inc., for certain power generating facilities. These new agreements contract for 5.3 million tons of coal in 2005, 4.8 million tons of coal in 2006 and 2.3 million tons of coal in 2007.

The new software, Innoprise Budget, will replace a legacy system that no longer meets the co-op's changing business requirements.
T3 Netservice A/S selects ArcFM T3 Netservice A/S, located in Denmark, has chosen to implement ArcFM as part of a comprehensive GIS implementation to replace its existing solution. T3 Netservice provides technical operations services for the distribution systems at three utility companies in Denmark: Energi Horsens in Horsens, NRGI in Ã…rhus, and ESS in South Jutland. Supplying energy to more than 273,000 customers, these three companies combined form the third largest utility in Denmark.
