Eka Systems and Landis+Gyr announce partnership

Germantown, MD, August 13, 2008 -- Eka Systems announced an agreement with Landis+Gyr to integrate its AMI residential FOCUS meter with the EkaNet Smart Network AMI solution. Under the terms of the agreement, the companies have addressed the technical, functional, and solution delivery required for utilities to deploy a true mesh, fully supported Smart Network AMI solution.

The FOCUS family of metering products provides a solid state meter platform that is designed to adapt to various AMI technologies. The FOCUS AX and AX-SD meters are designed to provide demand, time-of-use, and load profile information. The FOCUS AX-SD also offers remote connect/disconnect features.

EkaNet Smart Networks are designed to provide mesh networking of meters and other smart grid devices in support of distribution automation, demand response, distributed generation and more.
