PPL EnergyPlus selects Comverge for energy management

East Hanover, NJ, July 22, 2008 -- Comverge Inc. announced that it has been selected by PPL EnergyPlus LLC for full-service energy management services that include demand response programs, metering and integration, and other energy curtailment services.

PPL EnergyPlus is the energy marketing and trading subsidiary of PPL Corp. PPL EnergyPlus buys and sells energy commodities and structured products in competitive wholesale markets and deregulated retail markets for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

Comverge will extend the energy services PPL EnergyPlus offers to its C&I customers through comprehensive energy solutions provided to produce energy load reduction and related services in the PJM market. With generation rate caps in Pennsylvania expiring at the end of 2009, PPL EnergyPlus will offer more energy services to its customers.

Pursuant to the program, Comverge will enroll PPL EnergyPlus C&I customers in demand response programs administered by the regional transmission organization (RTO) or the independent system operator (ISO), which will compensate customers for curtailing load against specific program parameters.
