Telvent completes AMR installation for Swedish utility Vattenfall

Madrid, Spain, July 22, 2008 -- Telvent announced the completion of the "Amrelva" project installation phase, signed with Sweden's Vattenfall Co. to supply and manage the automatic remote electric meter reading system. Telvent acted as the main meter supplier by providing 600,000 of the 850,000 total meters.

A total of 583,000 households are set to use the automatic remote reading systems started up by Telvent. The system is designed to allow users to control electric consumption costs at any time from their homes. The technology should also enable a reduction in billing errors.

The operational and maintenance phase, also managed by Telvent since 2006, is to be completed by 2011, with a six-year extension option.
