Folsom, CA, April 28, 2008 -- According to the California Independent System Operator Corp.'s new summer assessment, California should have enough power to keep the lights on and air conditioners humming this summer although there will likely be days, especially in Southern California, when conservation and voluntary demand response programs will be called on to ease the strain on the power grid.
The summer assessment is not a firm prediction of what will happen. Rather, it looks at a broad set of variables and offers some insight into the possible range of conditions California is likely to face this summer as the industry and consumers get ready for the peak summer demand period.
