Tadiran Batteries and Hexagram sign lithium battery contract for AMR use

Cleveland, OH, Dec. 15, 2006 -- Tadiran Batteries Ltd has been awarded a 5 year $18 million contract for the supply of lithium batteries from Hexagram Inc, a US based manufacturer of automatic meter reading (AMR) systems for water, gas and electric utilities.

Tadiran Batteries' lithium cells feature high capacities, very low self discharge rates, and wide operating temperature ranges. Tadiran batteries last over 20 years in the field without need for replacement or recharging.

Tadiran's products are also used in other industries such as GPS tracking units, toll tag transponders, wireless sensors, RFID, emergency medical devices and military systems.
