APS announces executive management changes

Phoenix, AZ, Dec. 14, 2006 -- Arizona Public Service (APS) announced that its board of directors has elected Donald Brandt to the position of president of APS. Brandt will report to Jack Davis, CEO of APS and president and COO of Pinnacle West Capital Corp., and will have responsibility for all areas of APS, excluding nuclear and fossil generation. Additionally, he will continue in his capacity as APS' CFO and Pinnacle West's executive VP and CFO. Brandt joined APS in 2002 as its CFO.

In addition, Jim Levine, chief nuclear officer and executive VP for APS Generation, has decided to retire after 17 years at APS. Levine will remain in his current position until the search for a new senior VP and chief nuclear officer is completed. That individual is expected to join the company early in 2007 and will report directly to CEO Davis, who is retaining direct responsibility over generation to ensure a high level of focus on nuclear generation.
