New York, NY, Dec. 11, 2006 -- Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. (Con Edison) has been named the most reliable electric utility for the northeast region of the United States by PA Consulting Group, an international consultant that presents its ReliabilityOne awards annually to utilities that have excelled in delivering reliable electric service to their customers.

"This award is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of Con Edison's 14,000 employees, who are responsible for our electrical system's reliability," said Kevin Burke, chairman and CEO of Con Edison.

The award was presented recently during a ceremony in Miami, Florida.
