AREVA T&D unveils new products in Paris

Paris, France, Aug. 29, 2006 -- AREVA T&D, a provider of products, systems and services to the electric transmission and distribution industry, will unveil a series of new offerings at the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) Technical Exhibit in Paris.

The highlights on the AREVA T&D stand include the Digital Substation, a mix of advanced information technology with a high degree of process expertise. Based on the Ethernet IEC 61850 8.1 and 9.2 protocol Non-Conventional Instrument Transformers and advanced condition monitoring algorithms, the Digital Substation removes the traditional wirings between primary and secondary equipments.

AREVA T&D will also be showing e-terravision, a software system that helps operators anticipate and prevent potential problems. Designed and developed by AREVA T&D in conjunction with customers, e-terravision promises to reduce the risk of brownouts and blackouts.

Also highlighted on the AREVA T&D stand will be the MiCOM T390 Universal Power Line Carrier (PLC). Designed to enhance customer flexibility and management options while reducing cost of ownership, the MiCOM T390 promises to provide a comprehensive HV line communications solution.
